Teens Charged in Toms River After Pulling a Gun on a Friend and Slashing Tires

According to Toms River Police Department, on June 8, 2022, at around 5:00 p.m., police units were summoned to the area of Hooper Avenue and Claudina Avenue for a female stating that two youths she knew pulled a firearm on her and her buddy, then slashed their vehicle tires with a knife. When the cops arrived, the suspects were already gone.
Sergeant Chris McDowell saw the vehicle in the area of Route 37 and Hooper Avenue about an hour later. The vehicle was eventually discovered vacant in the parking area of the Ocean County Mall after a brief pursuit was called off due to public safety concerns. Several police units raced to the scene and quickly discovered both of the suspects, as well as the weapon in question, and placed them under arrest.
Charges for Criminal Mischief, 2nd Degree Eluding, and Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose were approved by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office. Additional charges are pending.
