Thirteen individuals involved in a human trafficking operation in South Jersey were apprehended, according to the NJ State Attorney General

Nathaniel Clay and Shalaby Hicks were purportedly in charge of the operation.

The two men were operating out of the Riviera Motor Inn in Pennsauken and the Bel-Air Motor Lodge in Maple Shade, according to State Attorney General Jennifer Davenport.

Additionally, Hicks and Clay are charged with selling fentanyl, crack, and methamphetamine.

Investigators claim that fifteen women were coerced into prostitution as part of that scheme.
Davenport stated, "Hicks and Clay in turn offered the victims illicit narcotics, along with food and accommodation."

Theresa Hilton, director of the Division of Criminal Justice, continued, "Human trafficking survivors are frequently manipulated, coerced, threatened, secluded, or trapped by addiction or financial dependency."

They are also accused of selling fentanyl, crack, and methamphetamine.

Attorney General Davenport is worried that trafficking may take place during the FIFA World Cup in New Jersey.

Her office is now spreading the word about trafficking and offering a hotline for anyone in need. That hotline is 855-363-6548.
