Three Homes in Ortley Beach Have Been Damaged by Fire
Ortley Beach Fire April 5, 2022
Three residences in the Ortley Beach section of Toms River were damaged by fire on Tuesday, according to fire authorities.
According to Chief Drew Calvo of Toms River's Ocean Beach Volunteer Fire Company, the fire started in a shed in the 2000 block of Bay Boulevard and spread to a residence on First Avenue. According to him, the fire also damaged a house on the same property as the shed, as well as an adjacent home on Bay Boulevard.
According to the fire chief, "The lots are small. They're so close and the radiant heat just doesn't do us any favors."
Calvo stated that no one was hurt. According to him, the homes were vacant when the fire broke out. Toms River's Bureau of Fire Prevention and township police are investigating, he said. Fire departments from Toms River, Seaside Park, Lavallette and Brick assisted, Calvo said.
