Todd Frazier also nicknamed the ToddFather is truly a Jersey Boy.
He is now at spring training making pals and is quickly is becoming a favorite in the clubhouse.
According to nj.com, on Wednesday, Pirates utility man Cole Tucker joined MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM and was asked about Frazier’s influence. The quote below pretty much says it all: “He’s always talking about pizza. He’s like, ‘Man, no one makes pizza like we do in Jersey, man!’”
Frazier, a Rutgers alum and Little League World Series hero from Toms River, N.J, is competing for a spot on the Pirates’ Opening Day roster.
The 35-year-old Frazier, who’s hitting .190 with two home runs and three RBI in Grapefruit League play, is trying prove he can be a consistent contributor for the Pirates. Per MLB.com: “It’s go-time for me,” he said. “It’s one of those things like when you were younger, trying to make the team -- which I am, just a little older now. When I get an opportunity to stay in there and go all nine, I will.”
For those who don't know, Frazier was born and raised in Toms River, New Jersey.
Frazier starred on the Toms River East American squad that won the Little League World Series. He later helped Toms River South win two state titles in high school before enjoying a storied career at nearby Rutgers. “Todd’s a legend in Toms River,” said Ken Frank, Frazier’s high school coach. Beyond anything athletic, Frazier credits his parents for helping him become the person he is today. “They raised me the right way,” he said. Frazier is married and has three children.
Todd Brian Frazier, nicknamed The Toddfather, is an American professional baseball third baseman and first baseman in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. He has played in Major League Baseball for the Cincinnati Reds, Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees, Texas Rangers and New York Mets.
