On Saturday, April 22, 2023, Toms River East Little League began their 2023 season with a parade down Windsor Avenue in Toms River led by the East Dover Fire Company. Opening Day ceremonies included honoring their three 2022 championship teams, and commemorating the 25th anniversary of TRELL's Little League World Series victory.
Todd Frazier received the opening pitch from Mayor Mo Hill. Helicopter flyovers and mounted officers from the NJ State Police were present.
The recently upgraded fields, which include a turf field and new lights added to the excitement. The upgrades will enhance playing conditions and safety and are partially funded by federal ARPA monies awarded to the Township.
The management of TRELL aspires to use the upgraded venue to hold All Star and Regional Tournaments.
It was a great opening day and many thanks to the Mayor and Council of Toms River, the entire TRELL volunteer board members, and the parents for giving the children in Toms River such wonderful opportunities and experiences.
