Teens Charged in Toms River After Pulling a Gun on a Friend and Slashing Tires

According to the Ocean County Prosecutors office, on June 9, 2022, Kevin Wurtenberg, 38, of Toms River was charged with Possession of Child Pornography.
The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force of the New Jersey State Police referred this investigation. A Verizon Wireless subscriber was found to be downloading photographs of child pornography from the internet, according to the Task Force. A Verizon Wireless subscriber with a Toms River address was identified as the person downloading the child pornography photographs, according to an investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office High Tech Crime Unit.
Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office High Tech Crime Unit, the US Department of Homeland Security – Investigations Unit, and the Toms River Township Police Department conducted a court-authorized search warrant on Wurtenberg's Toms River home on June 9, 2022. As a result, detectives recovered two cell phones from the home, each with hundreds of photographs of child pornography on them. Following that, Wurtenberg was apprehended at his home. Wurtenberg was arrested in Toms River Township and sent to the Ocean County Jail, where he is currently being held pending a detention hearing.
