There were reports of a large police presence in the woods behind Edgewood apartments and the access road that runs along the power lines behind the Silver Ridge apartment complex on Monday evening. Toms River Police were actively searching for a suicidal female armed with a handgun.

According to the Toms River Police Department, they asked residents in that area to please shelter in place as they continued their search. The search included a helicopter along with searchers on the ground which took a few hours.
