Traffic Disruption and Power Outage Caused by Hooper Avenue Crash in Toms River

Tractor Trailer Crash Closes Hooper Avenue

Multiple Traffic Signals Were Affected

On Saturday morning, Hooper Avenue in Toms River was closed due to a crash that brought down wires across the road, according to Toms River police.

According to police, Hooper Avenue was closed in both directions at South Shore Drive, just north of Fischer Boulevard, and several traffic lights were out.

According to reports, a tractor trailer knocked down poles and primary wires while one victim was still trapped inside a car. There were widespread power outages, and traffic lights out in the neighborhood. TRPD also had problems with their non-emergency phone lines.
