Tragic Discovery: Investigation Underway After Body of NJ School Counselor Discovered in Park
PARSIPPANY, NJ — According to police, a large-scale, multi-agency search has come to an end after a missing Parsippany man was found dead.
Authorities said Cavan Londergan, 49, was last seen Monday in Madison, prompting a widespread search for him.
The effort involved multiple agencies, including the Madison Police Department, New Jersey State Police, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, and the Office of Emergency Management.
Investigators followed a lead that led them to Summerhill Park in Madison, where Londergan was discovered deceased Tuesday evening.
Prosecutors said the investigation remains ongoing, but there is no indication at this time that his death was the result of foul play. Londergan was reportedly a guidance counselor at Lake Parsippany Elementary School. A Parsippany High School alumnus, he spent more than two decades working as an educator and coach in the local community.
