Tragic Incident: Young Man, 23, Drowns at Monmouth County Beach
According to Spring Lake Police a 23 Year-old Essex County man passed away on May 4, 2024, after being rescued from the surf.
The first officers arriving on scene located a subject floating face down in the surf and pulled him out to initiate life-saving measures.
The victim, a 23-year-old male from Belleville, was treated on scene by EMT’s and Paramedics and ultimately transported to
Jersey Shore University Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
His identity is being withheld at this time pending full family notifications.
Lifeguards are not on duty for several more weeks - please do not swim in the ocean until the water is guarded.
Rip currents and dangerous conditions are always a possibility and the conditions change daily.
