After a confrontation that started around 5:15 p.m. in the parking lot and moved into the restaurant, Hughes attacked two people with a champagne bottle, according to Finelli.

She claimed that one individual was brought to the hospital and another was treated on the spot but declined further care.

According to Finelli, the disagreement that precipitated the brawl was over a horn honking.

Police were summoned to The Flaming Grill on Monday about 4:20 p.m. because someone was hurling plates around the establishment, according to Finelli.

In connection with the incident, she said, Jonathan Boyington, 29, of Brick, was detained and charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, and criminal mischief.
