Two Males are Being Sought by Police

One demanded money from the victims, stating they owed him money, and then swung a knife at both of them, injuring them.

Two individuals are wanted in connection with a stabbing that injured two men outside the Sunoco on Monmouth Road in Jackson on Friday night, according to police.

Capt. Steve Laskiewicz said Jackson police were called to the Sunoco near Jackson Premium Outlets at 9:43 p.m. Friday for a complaint of a dispute. According to Laskiewicz, a store employee told police that an argument began inside the store and continued outside, possibly involving a knife.

The suspects had fled the gas station before police arrived, but Jackson police received word from CentraState Medical Center in Freehold Township that two men had arrived at the emergency department with stab wounds and might have been engaged in the crime, he said.

The two males, a 23-year-old and a 29-year-old, told police they were inside the Sunoco shop when a man approached them and demanded money, stating they owed him money. They said the man left the store, but he was waiting when the two victims left. He attacked them and hit one of the victims before pulling out a tiny knife and swinging it at them, according to Laskiewicz.

According to Laskiewicz, one of the victims had injuries to his hand while the other was stabbed in the arm. According to the victims, the attacker was aided by a second man who pulled one of the victims away by the neck so that the two suspects could flee.

The assailant was described as a Hispanic man with a heavy build, short, dark hair, and spectacles, standing around 5 feet, 8 inches tall. The second individual was characterized as a black man with short dark hair and a skinny physique. According to Laskiewicz, they departed the area in a light blue vehicle.
