In a blazing ATV accident in New Jersey on Wednesday, two young women sustained significant burns to their heads, backs, arms, and cheeks.
Around 6:15 p.m., Manchester Township police officers discovered the 20-year-old woman suffering from burns in the Roosevelt City neighborhood of Whiting near Trenton Avenue, according to Manchester Township Police Department officials.
The hurt women were able to travel by foot to a nearby house, where they awaited first aid, according to the police.
According to authorities, the 20-year-olds claimed to have flipped their ATV while riding on paths around Roosevelt Boulevard and Trenton Avenue in the woods. The ATV flipped and then caught fire.
According to authorities, the women received initial care on the site before being transported by medical helicopter to a burn facility.
According to authorities, firefighters from Whiting Volunteer Fire Department and New Jersey Forest Fire Service were sent to the scene to put out the fires that had spread to the nearby wooded area and an ATV.
