Two Workers Electrocuted at Jersey Shore
Following what authorities described as a "advanced life support emergency," two private contractors were admitted to the hospital after they were probably electrocuted early on Monday while working at a residence in Ocean City, New Jersey.
First responders were called to a property along the
100 block of Somerset Lane in Ocean City, New Jersey, at approximately 8:57 a.m., according to police, after two men may have been electrocuted.
According to officials, the incident occurred when one of the workers was working on the outside of a property and came into touch with electrical supply lines using a metal ladder.
According to authorities, the first employee was hurt when they fell from a ladder and were likely electrocuted. A second worker who grabbed the ladder in an attempt to assist the first worker was likely electrocuted.
Before the two workers were transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital, paramedics provided advanced life support care, according to police, while fire department officials on the scene provided trauma assessment and first treatment.
When the victims were admitted to the hospital, officials did not immediately disclose their conditions.
