At the Brick Apartment Complex, the Truck Ripped a Big Hole in the Side of a Building

After a vehicle slammed into an apartment in the Kentwood Apartment complex near Route 70 and Van Zile Road on Saturday, Brick Township police were joined by members of the Laurelton Fire Company and Emergency Medical Service Units [EMS].

After crossing two oncoming lanes of traffic on Van Zile Road around 2:00 p.m., a blue van slammed through a wall and into apartments 14 and 16.

Shortly later, firefighters arrived to remove the automobile from the building's first level.

According to witnesses on the scene, the driver was transported away in an ambulance. As of Saturday evening, no information about his condition was known. When the crash happened, Jude Etienne, his son Awan, 21, and two daughters, Elizabeth, 5, and Alyah, 17, were inside Apartment 14.

Mr. Etienne told The Ocean Star, "I'm blessed to be alive, and that my daughter is here," noting that he had called his daughter into the kitchen for lunch from her bedroom, and thus out of harm's way moments before.

He said, "I heard a big bang." "I was afraid the home was going to tumble down."

"I went inside her bedroom, just where she was laying down only one minute after she left the room, and the car went righ through the wall".

There were no injuries among the residents of the residential complexes. The owner expressed his gratitude for his and his daughter's survival. He expressed his gratitude by saying, "I feel blessed." Mr. Eitenne said he and his family, which includes his wife and three children, had been displaced as a result of the incident. Officers were on the scene assisting residents in finding a place to stay.

"My next step is to locate a place to stay so I can get back on my feet," Mr. Etienne added.

"It sounded like an earthquake," claimed Laura Van Valen, who was in her apartment at the time.
