Washington Street Elementary School CLOSES as Covid Cases Rise

SCHOOL CLOSED UNTIL APRIL 12

Covid Cases on the Rise at Washington Street Elementary School

Washington Street Elementary School staff, teachers and parents have been notified after careful consideration and with guidance from the Ocean County Health Department, that Washington Street Elementary School has been temporarily closed due to too many covid cases.

A planned reopening and return to four weekly shortened days of in-person learning will be on Monday, April 12. Starting today through April 1, students and staff will work within an all-virtual model of instruction, adhering to the current daily schedule, and return to school after spring break.

Earlier this year, the district was forced to temporarily shut down Cedar Grove and Silver Bay elementary schools when coronavirus cases spiked.
