Weekend Forecast Looks Fantastic as Humidity Drops and Skies Turn Sunny

There haven’t been many weekends like this so far this summer, but this one is shaping up to be a rare exception, with both Saturday and Sunday expected to bring beautiful weather.

The stalled weather system that brought yesterday’s unsettled conditions is finally losing its grip and moving away from the southern Jersey Shore. As the clouds and storms pull out, cooler air filtering in from upstate New York and Canada will bring a much more comfortable air mass to the region.

Tonight will be pleasant, with overnight temperatures dipping into the 50s and low 60s and humidity levels remaining comfortably low. That refreshing air will stick around through Saturday, setting the stage for a beautiful weekend day.

Saturday will feature mostly sunny skies, with temperatures remaining warm but running a few degrees below normal. The typical high for this time of year is around 83 degrees, and it may be a struggle to reach 80. Overall, fair weather will dominate the region for most of the weekend, accompanied by light and favorable winds.

The beautiful conditions will continue into Saturday night, before the system gradually shifts offshore during the day Sunday.

The second half of the weekend will remain mostly sunny for much of Sunday. Winds will gradually shift direction, bringing more humid air back into New Jersey. Sunday’s temperatures will climb a few degrees above normal, and the increased humidity will make it feel even warmer—pleasant conditions for the final days of August.

By late Sunday evening and into Sunday night, clouds will begin to increase as a line of showers moves into the region from the Poconos.
