Weather Alert: Coastal Storm Expected at Jersey Shore

According to the National Weather Service, a Coastal Storm is expected on January 6th and 7th.

The Jersey Shore will experience Excessive Rainfall Outlook from 7 AM Saturday to 7 AM Sunday.

Some areas of minor coastal flooding may occur with the Saturday night/Sunday morning high tide cycle. The greatest potential for this will be along the Atlantic coasts of New Jersey and Delaware and Delaware Bay.

Coastal Flood Threat

According to News12 NJ, ahead of the weekend storm, a WINTER STORM WATCH is in effect for the counties of Warren, Sussex, Morris, Passaic, and western Bergen.

This watch will affect the area with moderate snowfall accumulations of up to 3-6", with hyperlocally higher amounts at the higher elevations. It will be in effect from Saturday night through Sunday morning.

Snow is Expected in regions north of Exit 129 and west of the GSP. west of Bridgewater on I-78. Union and Somerset counties, north of Route 22.

Meanwhile, most of Middlesex, southern Hunterdon, southern Somerset, Hudson, eastern Essex, eastern Union, and southeast Bergen counties; Monmouth and Ocean counties will expect rain and most of Somerset, eastern Union, and Hunterdon, south of I-78 will have a mix of wintery weather.
