23-Year-Old Man Has Drowned at the Jersey Shore

According to authorities on Friday night, a 23-year-old Palmyra man drowned in the ocean near Seaside Park.

Sgt. Andrew Casole of the Seaside Park Police stated that his family had been informed, but the man's identity was not disclosed.

As of 9:30 p.m., his body had not been found, and the search had been halted because of the darkness, according to Casole.
Around 5:30 p.m., there was a report of a swimmer in trouble near Decatur Avenue.

Reports of a second missing swimmer, according to Casole, were untrue and might have been the product of others attempting to save the man.
The U.S. Coast Guard, Seaside Park, and Seaside Heights Water Rescue teams responded to the incident.
