According to Toms River Police Department, at around 1:00 PM on January 18, 2023, police units were called to 2338 Route 9 for a reported vehicle into a building.

Anthony Marino, 93, of Toms River, was trying to turn left onto Route 9 when he accelerated, crossed the street, entered the property, hit a support wire, a street sign, a light post, and then hit the bank before coming to rest in the bank lobby, according to the preliminary investigation.
