Thanksgiving Trash & Recycling Schedule
According to Toms River Township, there will be a change in trash and recycling schedule in Toms River during the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Toms River Township Department of Public Works will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23, 2023. There will be no sanitation or recycling collections and the Recycling Convenience Center will be closed.
All regular sanitation and recycling collections after Wednesday are postponed one day, with Friday’s sanitation collections being picked up on Saturday.
Bulk pickups for Wednesday (11/22) and Thursday (11/23) sanitation areas will all be picked up on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.
Extra Recycling will take place on Wednesday, 11/22.
All Township offices will be closed on Thursday 11/23 and Friday, 11/24 in observance of the holiday.
The Recycling Convenience Center will be open on Friday, 11/24 and Saturday, 11/25 from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm

In order to reduce holiday associated costs, garbage and recycling will not be picked up on any of these holidays except on the Friday after Thanksgiving Day. When a holiday falls on a Monday, all collections that week will occur one day later than your normal collection day. For holidays not occurring on a Monday, should the holiday fall on or before your collection day, the collection will be one day later than normal.
