A Heartfelt Request: Ocean County Resident Seeks Kidney Donor
John Cusmano, a native of Toms River, has always volunteered his time to support his community. Now he needs his community's help.
John now needs a kidney hero with an A or O blood type.
John is a patient of the
Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation at the moment. The Chappaqua, New York-based Foundation was founded after three sisters, Jennifer, Cynthia, and Heather Flood, used Craigslist to locate a living kidney donor for their father, who was suffering from kidney disease.
The organization coordinates and supports the matching process between kidney recipients and potential donors. The Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation seeks to match individuals with living donors so they can avoid the national waiting list and dialysis. In order to increase awareness of their program and patients in need, they also use media and social media outreach.
If you want to potentially save a life by donating a healthy kidney, visit the foundation's website HERE
