Tragic Motorcycle Collision Claims Life of Brick Township Man

Tragic Accident:

Brick Township Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash

A motorcycle accident on Brick Boulevard on Wednesday afternoon claimed the life of a 64-year-old man from Brick Township.

According to Brick Township Police Department Horace Giambona lost control of his Harley Davidson and struck a pickup truck close to Yorktowne Boulevard.

Around 2:34 p.m., Rick Stamm, 56, of Brick, was traveling north on Brick Boulevard in his 2013 Dodge Ram pickup when the collision happened. According to authorities, Stamm had stopped at the intersection of Yorktowne Boulevard to make room for an ambulance to pass through the crossing with its lights and siren turned on.

Giambona was heading north on Brick Boulevard in his 2000 Harley Davidson Electra Glide when he approached the intersection.

He seemed to be trying to halt, but he skidded and lost control of the motorcycle, according to the police.

Giambona placed the motorcycle on its side, causing it to slide ahead along with him. Giambona suffered serious injuries after being flung off the bike and hitting Stamm's pickup truck's left rear end.

After being taken by emergency personnel to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, Giambona passed away from his wounds. Eventually, just north of Yorktowne Boulevard, in Brick Boulevard's right lane, the motorcycle came to rest. According to authorities, Stamm was unharmed in the collision.

Authorities are still looking into the collision to find out what exactly caused it.
