Medical Episode Results in Car Crash at Ocean County Residence

According to Manchester Police Department, on June 6, 2025, at approximately 11:37am officers of the Manchester Township Police Department were dispatched to the residence of 2 Belvedere Drive South for the report of a vehicle into a building.

Upon arrival, officers observed a white 2016 Hyundai Sonata with extensive front-end damage, a white 2014 Toyota Camry with damage to the front passenger side, and a red 2017 Toyota Camry with extensive damage to the front end. The two Toyota vehicles were parked in the driveway of 2 Belvedere Drive South. Officers also observed structural damage to the attached two-car garage of the residence.

The driver of the Hyundai was identified as 81-year-old Anita M. Lahm of Manchester, NJ. Ms. Lahm sustained minor injuries to her chest and neck and was transported to Community Medical Center for further evaluation of her injuries.
The crash investigation revealed that the Hyundai was traveling south on Belvedere Drive North and was approaching a stop sign. It appears that Ms. Lahm suffered a medical episode causing her vehicle to accelerate and continue south, crossing over Renaissance Boulevard.

The Hyundai then entered onto the property of 2 Belvedere Drive South. The Hyundai continued to travel south before impacting the red Toyota parked in the driveway of the residence.

After initial impact the Hyundai was redirected by approximately forty-five degrees and impacted the two-car garage of the residence. The red Toyota after impact rotated approximately forty-five degrees and impacted the white Toyota which was parked to the left.
This crash is still under investigation. If you have any information, please contact Manchester Police Department at (732) 657-6111.
