EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — A quick‑moving response by Egg Harbor Township police officers and firefighters saved a family dog from a house fire on Sunday afternoon.

First responders were dispatched to 207 Laguna Drive on March 2 after a neighbor called 911 reporting smoke coming from the residence. When officers arrived, they found smoke pushing from the home and immediately forced entry to search for anyone inside.

According to police, the house was unoccupied at the time, but officers located a dog trapped inside the smoke‑filled structure. They carried the animal to safety and provided care until firefighters arrived on scene.

Fire crews from the Egg Harbor Township Fire Department quickly brought the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading to neighboring homes. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by local fire officials.
