NEW JERSEY — For more than a year, 14 months to be exact, young Owen has been living inside a hospital room instead of a bedroom at home. While most children his age are running around outside, going to school, and spending time with siblings, Owen has been fighting for something most of us never have to think about — a new heart.

Owen is currently supported by a ventricular assist device (VAD) as he waits for the life‑saving transplant he desperately needs. His days are filled with procedures, monitoring, and the emotional weight of uncertainty. Yet through it all, his family says he continues to show a strength far beyond his years.

His mother has been by his side every single day, unable to work while ensuring he receives the comfort, care, and stability he needs during this long and exhausting journey. The separation from home — and from Owen’s brothers — has taken a toll on the entire family.

“This journey has been incredibly difficult for our family,” they shared. “Owen’s strength inspires us every day, but the long days in the hospital and being apart from his brothers have been heartbreaking.”
