Deadly Collision in Monmouth County: NJ Man Dies in 5-Vehicle Crash
According to Colts Neck Police, a five-vehicle collision on Monday afternoon resulted in the death of a 67-year-old man.
Colts Neck Police responded to a five-vehicle collision with reported injuries near Route 34 and Trump National Blvd. on Monday at 1:51 p.m.
A 67-year-old Colts Neck resident was discovered to be driving a 1997 Chevrolet pickup truck when police arrived at the site of the collision, according to the police.
After suffering serious injuries, the pickup truck driver was transported by Colts Neck First Aid to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where he was subsequently declared dead.
Authorities have not disclosed the driver's identify. All other injuries were minor, according to the authorities.
Route 34 between Route 537 and Route 18 was closed in both directions after the collision on Monday afternoon.
On Monday, the road reopened at approximately 8 p.m.
According to authorities, a preliminary investigation showed that the pickup truck struck the other involved vehicles after failing to maintain lane and over the yellow center line.
