TRENTON, N.J. — A major shooting investigation is underway after seven people were shot, including two teenagers, during a violent late‑night incident in Trenton on Tuesday, according to 6ABC Action News.
Police responded around 10:30 p.m. to the area of Centre and Furman Streets, near Route 1, after a ShotSpotter alert detected a barrage of gunfire. When officers arrived, they found multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds scattered across a large area.

Authorities confirmed the victims include:
Two victims are in critical condition, while the remaining five are being treated at Capital Health Regional Medical Center.
Detectives worked through the night, marking evidence across multiple blocks. At least 35 shell casings were found on the ground, along with a child’s backpack and sneakers left behind near the scene. A car and an SUV were also struck by gunfire, both with shattered rear windows.
Chopper 6 footage showed investigators circling several clusters of evidence, suggesting the possibility of multiple shooters or a shootout, though police have not yet confirmed the motive.
Evidence markers stretched from Centre Street to Furman Street, with officers documenting several impact points and shell casing clusters. The Mercer County Shooting Response Team is leading the investigation.
Trenton Mayor Reed Gusciora is expected to hold a press conference at noon to provide updates and address community concerns.
