Fundraiser Tops $77,000 for Sister of NJ Woman Killed in Jersey Shore Crash

WALL, NJ — A community fundraiser for the sister of a 24-year-old Wall woman killed in a late-night Jersey Shore crash has raised more than $77,000 as loved ones continue to mourn her loss.

Sarah H. Lee was killed shortly before midnight Thursday, July 30, in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 138 and New Bedford Road in Wall Township, according to authorities. Lee was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lee's death has left her sister, Allie, facing the loss of her only immediate family member. The sisters had previously lost their mother six years ago, according to the fundraiser organized by family friend Cali Whedon.

The GoFundMe campaign was established to help Allie cover funeral expenses and other unexpected costs associated with Sarah's death and settling her affairs.

As of Aug. 4, the fundraiser had collected approximately $77,187 toward its $90,000 goal. Friends and supporters are continuing to ask members of the community to donate or share the campaign.

Sarah has been remembered by those who knew her as someone who brought happiness and kindness to others.

“Sarah Lee was truly a ray of sunshine who brought light, kindness, and joy to everyone she met,” Whedon wrote in the fundraiser.

The circumstances surrounding the fatal crash remain under investigation. The Wall Township Police Department, Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and Monmouth County SCART Team are involved in the investigation. Authorities have not released additional details about what caused the collision.
