The following blood drive is scheduled for November 24 at Christ Episcopal Church, 415 Washington St, Toms River, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to New Jersey Blood Services.
They are experiencing a shortage of blood due to the coronavirus. People must make every effort to donate blood as soon as possible!
Because blood products have a short shelf life ranging from five to 42 days, they must be replenished on a regular basis. Every day, there are people who need red blood cell, platelet, and plasma transfusions to stay alive.
Blood and blood products, on the other hand, cannot be made. They can only come from volunteers who give up an hour of their time to go to a blood drive or a donor facility.
On-site mini-medical checkups are provided for free to blood donors, including information on their temperature, blood pressure, and hematocrit level. People who are at least 16 years old (with parental permission or consent), weigh at least 110 pounds, are in excellent health, and meet all Food and Drug Administration and New York or New Jersey State Department of Health donor criteria are eligible to donate. With a doctor's note, people above the age of 75 can donate.
