Republican Jack Ciattarelli Said He Plans to Run Again in 2025

On Friday, Republican Jack Ciattarelli conceded the governor's race in New Jersey.

Ciattarelli stated he will not pursue a recount during a press conference at the Raritan Municipal Building. He also stated that he intends to seek for office again in four years.

Phil Murphy, who presently leads by roughly 75,000 votes, had previously been declared the winner by the Associated Press, ABC News, and other news organizations.

Ciattarelli is a former Assembly member who ran on a platform that included both traditional themes like lowering the state's high property taxes and opposition to COVID-19 regulations.

In 44 years, Murphy became the first Democrat to win reelection as governor. He primarily concentrated on the progressive agenda he implemented during his first term, which included, among other things, more taxes on the affluent and a higher minimum wage.

Ciattarelli stated last week that conceding the election or declaring victory was premature. He also advised people not to trust unsubstantiated theories, claiming that the outcome would be fair regardless of the outcome.

Murphy's victory was a bright spot for Democrats across the country, despite the fact that the party lost the Virginia governor's race despite President Joe Biden winning the state by double digits in the election against Donald Trump last year.

Despite Murphy's triumph, Republicans won an unexpected and significant legislative victory, beating Senate President Steve Sweeney and shocking state officials.
