Matthew Preziose, of Middletown
After being swept out to sea while swimming off a Hawaiian beach over the weekend, a 25-year-old New Jersey man remains missing.
Matthew Preziose, of Middletown, was still missing on Monday, two days after he went missing while swimming off Lumaha'i Beach on Kauai's north shore.
Preziose was one of two swimmers who were in danger along the Lumaha'i River at 1 p.m. Saturday, according to officials.
While the second swimmer made it safely back to shore, Preziose was last seen being swept out to sea, according to officials.
Lifeguards, firefighters, police, the U.S. Coast Guard and other agencies launched a search of the area, including by water and air, on both Saturday and Sunday, officials said.

As of Monday, a US Coast Guard spokesperson in Honolulu confirmed to the New York Post that the search was still underway. Because Kauai is five hours behind New York, it was unclear if the search had continued Tuesday.
Preziose stands 5'11" tall and was last seen wearing blue swim trunks. Call the Kauai Police Department's dispatch center at
