The crash happened at approximately 5:36 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2026, on Squankum Allenwood Road.
According to the
Wall Township Police Department, emergency personnel were dispatched after receiving reports of a vehicle that had left the roadway. Responding crews found a gray 2006 Honda Civic in a wooded area off the westbound lane. The vehicle sustained significant damage.
Guarino, who was driving and was the vehicle’s only occupant, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to a
gofundme created by his family, Joshua’s family remembered him as an “adventurous, caring, and bright young man” who brought joy to those around him.
“He had his whole life ahead of him, and his loss has left our family, friends, and community completely heartbroken,” his cousins, Gabrielle and Gianna Masucci, wrote.
His family said Joshua will be remembered for his warmth, infectious smile, and the love he shared with his family and friends.
As the family prepares to lay Joshua to rest, they are also facing the unexpected financial costs associated with his funeral and burial. A
fundraiser has been established to help cover those expenses and other costs resulting from his sudden passing.
“Our family is devastated by this sudden and unimaginable loss,” Gabrielle and Gianna wrote. “Any donation, no matter the amount, would mean so much to our family and help ease the financial burden as we focus on grieving and remembering Joshua.”
The South Wall Fire Department, Glendola Fire Department, Monmouth County EMS, Hackensack Paramedics, and the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office all assisted at the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing and is being conducted by Lt. Andrew Baldino and Ptl. Joshua Wheeler of the Wall Township Police Department.
