Brick Police Spread Holiday Cheer With 'Blue Christmas' Greetings

Anyone does not want to be pulled over by a cop during the holiday season. However, some vehicles who were recently stopped by Brick Township police had a pleasant surprise.

Instead of receiving traffic tickets for broken headlights or taillights, drivers received AutoZone gift cards and a simple Christmas greeting.

The Blue Christmas program, which was a pleasant surprise for Brick Township Police and Brick PBA Local 230 during the holiday season of 2020, has been renewed for 2021.

The police department released footage from a recent round of traffic stops for equipment violations. There were no citations issued for broken taillights or headlights.

"It's been a tough couple of years. Last year we tried to do our part in spreading the holiday cheer with our first Blue Christmas. It was such a hit that we decided to do it again this year," the police department said in a Facebook post. "On behalf of the Brick Township Police Department and the Brick PBA Local #230, Merry Christmas, and enjoy our Blue Christmas 2021 video."
