Winter Weather Advisory has been Issued for Ocean County

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather alert for Ocean County early Wednesday morning, citing the possibility of slippery conditions overnight.

The advisory will be in force from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Wednesday, with freezing rain predicted to form "a light sheen" of ice over already wet surfaces in South Jersey from Monday's snowstorm.

According to the meteorological service's Mount Holly station, the conditions could cause "extremely slippery sidewalks, roads, and bridges," with the dangerous conditions predicted to hinder the morning commute.

According to the advisory, motorists should reduce their speed and drive with extra caution on Wednesday morning.

The alert covers all of Delaware, as well as parts of southern New Jersey (including Ocean County).
