TOMS RIVER WOMAN SENTENCED TO STATE PRISON FOR MANSLAUGHTER

According to the Ocean County Prosecutors office, Samantha Massimino, 36, of Toms River, was sentenced to five years in New Jersey State Prison (NJSP) on August 4, 2023, by the Honorable Guy P. Ryan, P.J.Cr.P., as a result of her previously entered guilty plea to Manslaughter in connection with the death of Reinaldo Feliciano, Jr., 35, also of Toms River, in the early morning hours of October 24, 2020.

This sentence will be subject to the restrictions of the No Early Release Act, which means Massimino must serve at least 85 percent of her jail sentence before being considered for parole. On May 1, 2023, Massimino pled guilty to the accusation before Judge Ryan.

Toms River Township Police Officers arrived to a local residence on October 24, 2020, at about 4:00 a.m., following a 911 call requesting help in reference to a male victim who had been stabbed. Officers arrived to find Reinaldo Feliciano, Jr. with a stab wound to his leg.

An investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Major Crime Unit, Toms River Township Police Detective Bureau, and Ocean County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit revealed that Massimino and Mr. Feliciano, who were previously dating, got into a physical altercation at the residence.

During the heated confrontation, Massimino pulled out a knife and stabbed Mr. Feliciano in the leg. Mr. Feliciano was taken to Community Medical Center, where he died.
