Fire Forces Closure of Ocean County Courts in Toms River

Roads surrounding the Ocean County Justice Complex are closed due to a fire that closed the Ocean County courts on Monday, according to officials.

Firefighters and police are in the vicinity of Hooper and Madison avenues, according to an alert from the Ocean County Sheriff's Office advising of traffic delays in the area.

The state courts website made the announcement of the court closing:
"Due to a facilities issue, Ocean Vicinage will be closed the remainder of today, May 11th, 2026. For Temporary Restraining Orders, please contact the Family Division - Domestic Violence Unit at (732)504-0700, extension 64608, or your local police department."

There was no immediate information on the extent of the fire.
