Freehold Library Shooting Leads to Arrest: Monmouth County 

A man from Keansburg has been charged regarding a shooting incident that occurred on Thursday in Freehold Borough, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office. Kanye P. Faucette, aged 19, faces charges of first-degree attempted murder, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon (handgun), and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, as stated by prosecutors.
On Thursday, April 30, at 4:21 p.m., personnel from the Freehold Borough Police Department were dispatched to the vicinity of the Freehold Borough Public Library located at 28 East Main Street following a report of gunfire.

Upon their arrival, officers found a male victim with a gunshot wound, who was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical care and is currently in stable condition.

As a result of the incident that took place on Thursday, the Freehold Public Library has been closed until further notice.
An investigation conducted by officials from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau alongside the Freehold Borough Police Department has identified Faucette as the individual suspected in relation to the incident.

Additionally, the investigation led to the charging of Heaven D. Holmes, 20, from Keyport, with second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon (handgun) and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, according to authorities.
