MISSING PERSON – ENDANGERED: Search Underway in Parsippany for 31-Year-Old Autistic Man

UPDATE – 9:10 AM: A helicopter is currently searching over Lake Parsippany as part of the ongoing effort to locate missing resident Jigar Prajapati. Police have updated his shirt color to gray.

Authorities in Parsippany are urgently searching for 31-year-old Jigar Prajapati, an autistic man who went missing early Monday morning. According to the Parsippany Police Department, Prajapati was last seen at approximately 3:30 AM at his home on Califon Road. Investigators believe he left the residence on foot sometime between 3:30 AM and 6:00 AM.

Police describe Prajapati as 5’5” tall, weighing 160 pounds, and last seen wearing blue pajama pants and a gray T‑shirt. He does not have his cellphone with him.

As of 9:10 AM, a helicopter is actively searching over Lake Parsippany, assisting ground units and K9 teams in the area.

Authorities are asking residents in the surrounding neighborhoods to check their properties, including sheds, yards, vehicles, and wooded areas. Homeowners and businesses are also urged to review any surveillance or CCTV footage from overnight and early morning hours for possible sightings.
