In Memory of Jared Michael Halpern, 43, Beloved Husband and Father

Jared Michael Halpern passed away on August 3, 2026, at the age of 43, after courageously facing his second battle with an extremely rare germ cell cancer. Though his life was far too short, it was one filled with unwavering love, strength, and selfless devotion. He will be remembered not only for his courage and service, but for the extraordinary husband, father, son, brother, and friend he was to so many.

Jared was the beloved husband of Jillian Halpern, née Miller, and the proud and devoted father of Paige and Hunter Halpern. Jillian was the love of his life and his greatest partner. Together they built a home filled with laughter, unconditional love, and cherished traditions. Through every season of life, Jared’s greatest happiness came from being with his family. No accomplishment, title, or achievement ever meant more to him than being Jillian’s husband and Paige and Hunter’s dad.

He adored his children beyond measure. Paige and Hunter were the center of his world, and he embraced every opportunity to be present in their lives. He was their biggest supporter, fiercest protector, and constant source of encouragement. His love for them was evident in everything he did, and the lessons he taught through his kindness, integrity, and unwavering devotion will remain with them always.

Jared was the cherished son of Barbara Cohen and the late Stephen Halpern, and the loving brother of Joshua Halpern (wife Debbie), and Zach Halpern. He is also survived by his in laws, Toni Marie Miller and Glenn Miller; his sister-in-law, Alexis Reis, (husband Jason), brother-in-law Glenn Miller (husband Graeme) along with many extended family members, dear friends, and countless people whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

A graduate of East Brunswick High School, Jared went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University in New Brunswick.

For 21 years, Jared proudly served the Evesham Township Police Department, rising to the rank of Detective. He wore the badge with honor, integrity, and compassion, earning the respect and admiration of his fellow officers and the community he served. He approached every challenge with humility and professionalism, and the friendships he formed throughout his career became lifelong bonds. His commitment to protecting others reflected the same selflessness that defined the way he cared for his own family.

Outside of work, Jared embraced life wholeheartedly. He enjoyed working out, playing the guitar, and spending time with the people he loved most. Family vacations to their home in South Carolina were among his happiest memories-days filled with laughter, relaxation, and togetherness that his family will treasure forever. He was also a lifelong New York Giants fan, faithfully supporting his team through every season.

Jared leaves behind a legacy of courage, compassion, and unwavering devotion. His impact will live on in the lives he touched, the officers he mentored, the community he faithfully protected, and, most of all, in Jillian, Paige, and Hunter, who were the greatest loves of his life. While his absence leaves an immeasurable void, his love will continue to guide and surround his family every day.

A funeral service was held at 10:30 am, on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Marlton Assembly of God, 625 E. Main St, Marlton, NJ 08053. Burial was followed at 1:00 pm, at Roosevelt Community Cemetery, Eleanor Lane, Roosevelt, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jared’s memory may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, or Fox Chase Cancer Center.
