Brick Home Destroyed By Fire

On September 12th all four fire companies in Brick Township responded to a structure fire at 58 Joseph Byrne Drive in Brick Township. The Baughman family, which consisted of parents Mike and Michele, son Joey and his sister Julianna, and their dog Rosie, lost everything in the early-morning fire.

When the family, who are dedicated NY Rangers fans, were able to re-enter the house to grab some belongings,  they discovered several treasures including a signed Henrik Lundqvist jersey, though it was severely damaged.

After a tragic fire destroyed their house, the Brick Baughman family received an unexpected surprise from the New York Rangers. The family was working to reconstruct their lives when they were invited to take part in what they believed to be an in-arena contest one night at the Rangers' Madison Square Garden home opener.

Instead, the Rangers veteran Lundqvist surprised Joey, an aspiring hockey player, and his family by giving them a new signed jersey and a $10,000 check from the Rangers and Chase.

Following the game, Zibanejad met and chatted with the family.

And that night's thrilling victory for the Rangers? Just the cherry on top.
