According to Toms River Police Department, three offenses that occurred in the town's North Dover neighborhood overnight on Wednesday and into Thursday are being investigated by authorities.
Lt. Gene Bachonski stated that the suspects in all three incidents, which took place in the Tallymawr neighborhood within a 30-minute period, seem to be the same individuals.The first occurred at a Reynolds Avenue residence at 3:06 in the morning, he added. When the homeowners were asleep, four individuals wearing dark clothing and facial covers broke through the front window of the house and took jewelry and cameras valued at over $100,000, according to Bachonski.
According to him, the suspects started the engine of an Audi that was parked in a Brentwood Avenue home's driveway at three in the morning. According to Bachonski, they left the car running and proceeded to another residence on Brentwood Avenue.According to him, around 3:37 a.m., the proprietors of the second Brentwood Avenue house heard sounds of someone attempting to enter the property. When the homeowners woke up, the suspects were scared off, according to Bachonski, after breaking a rear window.
It was not immediately known whether any items had been stolen from the home, he said.
The Toms River Police Department is working with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and Ocean County Sheriff’s Department to solve these crimes and prevent future break-ins, Bachonski said.
