Human Remains Found In South Jersey Woods: Under Investigation
EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — Human skeletal remains were discovered in a wooded area of Egg Harbor Township, prompting an investigation by local authorities.
According to a report citing
Egg Harbor Township Police, a resident discovered part of a skeleton around dawn on July 30 near the intersection of Tilton Road and Delilah Road.
Police searched the surrounding area with assistance from a cadaver dog unit from the New Jersey State Parks Police. During the search, officers located additional remains nearby.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to identify the remains and determine the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
The
Atlantic County Medical Examiner’s Office recovered the remains, according to the report. Officials said the identity of the person and the manner of death have not yet been determined and are pending forensic examination.
