Faith was a guiding force throughout his life. As a parishioner of St. John’s Church in Lakehurst, John was known for his humility and willingness to help others. Friends and family often describe him as a man who never sought recognition—he simply gave, quietly and wholeheartedly.

John is predeceased by his son, Keith McGuire, a loss he carried with profound love. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Marianne McGuire, whose partnership with John was a testament to enduring devotion. He also leaves behind his children and their spouses—Gregory J. & Susan McGuire, and Alison B. & Tom Penn—along with five grandchildren who brought him endless joy: Tess, Carly, Collin, Eli, and Logan.

His family remembers him as a man who found happiness in the simple moments: sharing stories, lending a hand, and showing up for the people he loved. His kindness was quiet but powerful, felt deeply by everyone fortunate enough to know him.
