New COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic in Ocean County

New Covid19 Vaccine Location

The Ocean County Health Department has created a new vaccination clinic at the Ocean County Transportation Services Complex in Manchester, as the COVID-19 mutations bring the number of sick back up and kids return to school.

This building will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 2820 Ridgeway Road.

In addition, the clinic at Toms River High School North's RWJBarnabas Health Arena has been reopened.

This location will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 1245 Old Freehold Road in Toms River.

Both clinics will offer vaccines from Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson, as well as accommodate immunocompromised patients who require a third dose. Beginning September 20, a booster dose for the general public will be available. Although appointments are preferred, walk-ins are allowed.

The Department of Health keeps track of COVID-19 positive test results. In comparison to other parts of the country, the numbers in Ocean County were comparatively low.

By the end of August, the number of new cases each day had risen to over 200. This is around half of what the county had in the midst of the worst of it, in the winter of 2020.

According to Gerry P. Little, Liaison to the Ocean County Board of Health for Ocean County, “The Manchester clinic site is another good location that will assist many of our elderly folks residing in that portion of the county. “There are still a lot of people who require the first, second, or now an additional and booster dose, and we want to make sure they have easy access to them.”

“Our objective is to make acquiring the immunization as easy as possible for everyone by conducting clinics in as many areas of the county as we can,” said Ocean County Commissioner Director Gary Quinn. The OCHD and its partners set to work immediately after learning of the booster recommendations, ensuring that we have more clinics and resources to better serve our residents.”
