Later this week, the Garden State is expected to see a days-long washout following a sunny and mild start to the week, according to the forecast.

Multiple rounds of storms are expected Wednesday through Friday, with several inches of fresh rainfall anticipated, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather office stated in a statement on Tuesday that it will be "sunny to start, but increasing clouds in the afternoon." "Tidal flooding for coastal areas is minor to moderate."

According to the meteorological weather service, a coastal flood warning is in place for Mercer and Burlington counties as of 9:30 a.m. and will last until 6 a.m. on Wednesday.

A coastal flood advisory is in effect for 13 counties in New Jersey through Wednesday at one in the morning. Cumberland, Atlantic, Gloucester, Camden, Cape May, Middlesex, Bergen, Essex, Union, Hudson, Monmouth, Ocean, and Burlington are the counties that are impacted.

The weather service stated, "Minor coastal flooding is not expected with the Tuesday morning high tide cycle." For certain places, "widespread minor coastal flooding is possible during the Tuesday evening high tide cycle."

Forecasters indicated that the clouds should clear in time for the weekend, with daytime highs close to 60 degrees and the possibility of partly sunny skies.
