After a period of dry, warm weather in New Jersey, there will be rain and strong winds on Thursday night and Friday morning, followed by a significant drop in temperature for the weekend.

Most of the state will have high temperatures on Wednesday that reach the mid- to upper 50s, according to the National Weather Service.
A cold front Thursday night will bring rain overnight into Friday and much cooler temperatures for the weekend. Highs on Wednesday are expected in the 50s and could rise into the 60s and 70s on Thursday ahead of the front.

There will be gusts of 25 to 35 mph on Thursday. By Thursday night, rain is predicted to arrive in northwest New Jersey and travel throughout the state until Friday morning. The total amount of rainfall is typically forecast to be between a quarter and half an inch.

As the front passes through, there may be a few rumbles of thunder.

By Friday afternoon, the state should be clear of all precipitation.
On Thursday, there will be gusts of 25 to 35 mph.

By Thursday night, rain is predicted to arrive in northwest New Jersey and travel throughout the state until Friday morning. The overall amount of rainfall is likely to be between a quarter and half an inch.

As the front passes through, there may be a few thunderclaps.

By Friday afternoon, the state should be cleared of all showers.

Friday's highs will be in the 50s, but as colder air comes in behind the front, they will drop during the day.

Saturday's highs will only be in the 40s, which is far below typical for late March.

Friday and Saturday nighttime lows are predicted to be in the mid-20s to low-30s.
