Ocean County Mom of 8 Loses Husband and Gives Birth in Same Week

Wachendorf Family

Gretchen And Kayla is organizing this fundraiser.

Robert T. Wachendorf, 45, of Brick, NJ, died on July 22, 2023, at Monmouth Medical Center, surrounded by his wife. He was born in Flemington, New Jersey, and spent the majority of his life in Brick. Rob attended Ocean County College and met his wife, Kristine, while earning two associate degrees.

Rutgers University awarded him a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. Rob was the father of seven children, with an eighth on the way; (updated:  Baby Theo was born on July 26, 2023.) His entire life revolved around his children; he enjoyed being outside with them and taking his family to the beach. He enjoyed teaching his children to ride their bikes, kayak, and, because he was very handy, he would teach them to fix things, as he could fix almost everything.  Click Here to View His Obituary

A GoFundMe has been organized to help the Wachendorf Family. He left behind his wife Kristine Milling Wachendorf; his children Aubriana, Alexa, Genevieve, Briella, Robert Patrick, Madeline, Odin and the newest member of the family, Theo.

According to the GoFundMe:

We are fundraising to help a local Brick mother who tragically lost her husband this week. Kristine is a mother of 7, due with their 8th child any day now.

She is a nurse with a beautiful, kind soul that has been a shining light in many of our lives as well as her patients. Unfortunately, their family has been battling construction fraud since Sandy and are still displaced from their home. Now, with the added loss of her dear husband we would like to join together as a community and lift this family up. We thank you for ANY donations you can make to help them during this difficult time.
