Ocean County Election Results 2021

On Election Day in New Jersey, the polls have officially closed, and millions of residents across the Garden State have cast their ballots — whether by mail, in person today or during the state's first early voting session — whether by mail, in person today or during the state's first early voting session.

After reports of voting problems across the state in connection with a new electronic system to verify voters' identities, a Superior Court judge denied a request by the American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey and the League of Women Voters to extend voting hours to 9:30 p.m. in a last-minute decision.

New Jersey voters choose a governor, as well as 40 seats in the state Senate and 80 seats in the state Assembly. Gov. Phil Murphy, a Democrat, is competing against Republican rival Jack Ciatterelli and his running mate Diane Allen with Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver. They were also up against three other independent candidate slates.

Hundreds of additional elected posts around the state are up for grabs this year, including county seats such as commissioners, surrogates, clerks, and sheriffs, as well as mayors and municipal offices, and school board positions.

Voters were also asked to weigh in on two questions: a constitutional amendment to allow groups to utilize raffles to raise funds, and a constitutional amendment to expand sports betting to college games.
