Route 37 in Manchester is Closed Due to a Tractor-Trailer Crash and Fire

Authorities expect Route 37 to be closed in both directions until the afternoon. The Lakehurst court has been canceled.

Following an early morning incident and fire involving a tractor-trailer, Route 37 in Manchester is expected to be closed in both directions into the afternoon Wednesday, according to authorities.

According to the state Department of Transportation's website 511nj.org, the accident occurred near the intersection with Northampton Boulevard.

The Ocean County Sheriff's Office sent a warning about 5 a.m. saying Route 37 is closed from Commonwealth Boulevard to Buckingham Drive.

Manchester Township police said the incident knocked out a utility pole near the municipal complex, and as a result, telephones are on emergency backup.

Lakehurst Municipal Court, which is held at Manchester Town Hall as part of a shared services arrangement, has been postponed until Wednesday morning. Officials have yet to make a decision on the municipal court in Manchester Township.
